Family planning and essential health products can have significant impacts on the lives of women and their families. Health product value chains vary considerably among countries and many stakeholders can play significant roles in shaping consumer access to family planning products. In particular, leveraging the commercial sector for the provision of essential health products, including family planning commodities, provides immense opportunities to increase access to health in key markets.

To catalyze commercial sector growth in health, the mobilization of private capital becomes essential, but remains challenging. The strategic use of donor funded investments can be used to provide increased commercial health viability and private investment attractiveness. This webinar will discuss blended finance opportunities in health within the Indian and Sub-Saharan context, based on recent studies identifying commercial engagement in the family planning and essential health products space. It will also provide a forum for a broader discussion of current challenges and opportunities within the blended finance and commercial health space.
