HP+ Joins Thousands at the 4th Global Symposium on Health Systems Research
November 18, 2016
HP+ joined more than 2,000 delegates from 101 countries gathered to explore building resilient and responsive health systems at the 4th Global Symposium on Health Systems Research (HSR2016). Held in Vancouver, the meeting concluded on November 18, 2016, when members released a statement reflecting key themes emerging from the week’s discourse and a path forward in our field, including:
“…the resilience discourse should be positioned within achieving the SDGs and mobilising collaboration and leadership across sectors. This together with integration and a move away from vertical approaches will help achieve the sustainable management of health systems. Symposium delegates repeatedly stressed the importance of people and relationships, flexibility and the capacity to mobilize new resources.”
We were pleased to join the conversation and present the project’s work on universal health coverage, decentralization, and social accountability and to share innovate tools to prevent stigma and discrimination.
