Liziem Valladares
Country Director, HP+ Honduras
Liziem Valladares is a health professional with more than 17 years of experience designing and implementing development projects in the health sector in Honduras. Her professional experience spans the private and not-for-profit sectors with expertise in the areas of HIV/AIDS; maternal, newborn, and child health; sexual and reproductive health and rights; health systems (including planning, procurement, monitoring and evaluation, and data management for decision making); and gender equity across donor-funded programs. Among other achievements, she facilitated the development of the first integrated national strategy to address STIs and HIV/AIDS in Honduras, and the basic package of health services for the general population and most-at-risk populations. She also facilitated development of the country’s Gender Policy and Monitoring and Evaluation Institutional Framework, providing technical assistance to the Honduran Ministry of Health. Liziem’s deep knowledge of and love for her native country of Honduras has made her a prominent advocate fighting to improve access to quality healthcare for those most in need, particularly women and girls. She has a degree in microbiology and chemical chemistry and a master’s degree in business administration.
