June 21, 2017
The regional director of the USAID-funded Health Policy Plus West Africa region, Modibo Maiga, participated in the annual Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Health Ministers meeting with the West African Health Organization (WAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Abuja this month. WAHO and WHO selected Mr. Maiga from among all the partner representatives to draft the partners' resolution. Mr. Maiga led a small committee to draft the resolution on task shifting/sharing in the ECOWAS region, which will help advance the sustainable development goals. The resolution was presented during the June 15 plenary session to the delegates. The same resolution was presented by WHO to the Ministers of Health on June 16.
