PEPFAR's COP20 guidance recommends countries increase their domestic resources for the HIV response. However, when governments at national and sub-national levels do allocate funds for HIV programs, those funds are not released or are not fully spent.
Public financial management (PFM) strategies can play a strategic role in increasing allocation to, and spending on, HIV programs. HP+ has supported such strategies in several countries and gleaned some important lessons.
During this webinar, HP+ staff from Indonesia, Kenya, and Nigeria share how they are supporting host governments to implement specific PFM activities for HIV, and the challenges they have encountered, as well as discussed how those strategies can be applied elsewhere.
Watch the recording, as we share our insights on the ability of PFM to increase allocation and subsequent spending for HIV programs.
