The Royal Government of Cambodia launched its National Social Protection Policy Framework in 2017, aiming to improve and expand social protection and achieve universal health coverage (UHC). Subsequently, the General Secretariat for the National Social Protection Council (GS-NSPC) was established to support implementation of the Policy Framework. The GS-NSPC is pursuing an evidence-to-action agenda and laying the groundwork to accelerate Cambodia’s journey towards UHC.
Using an embedded capacity development approach, the Health Policy Plus project has worked with the GS-NSPC and the P4H Social Health Protection network to support analytics on key dimensions of UHC including access to quality healthcare, financial risk protection, and population coverage expansion. Cambodia is also advancing UHC through improved efficiency in information and communications technology systems and increased accountability with a focus on performance monitoring and evaluation.
Join us to learn more about the way forward as Cambodia makes progress on the path to UHC.
