Annmarie Leadman
Director, Communications & Knowledge Management
Annmarie leads communications and knowledge management efforts for HP+. This includes the collection, documentation, and dissemination of project accomplishments, best practices, and lessons learned for a range of stakeholders and audiences. Annmarie has 25 years of experience in global health and scientific research, with a focus on communicating the complexities of tuberculosis, HIV, women’s leadership, and family planning/reproductive health; and the development of new methods of treating infectious disease. Previously, she led communications at Aeras, a nonprofit focused on TB vaccine development; the International Partnership for Microbicides; and the Centre for Development and Population Activities. Early in her career, Annmarie managed a small-project grant fund at the U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi, and served the Peace Corps as both a volunteer in Botswana and as the North Africa and Middle East desk officer. She holds an MA in journalism and public affairs from American University and a BA in English from Villanova University.
