Barbara Rieckhoff
Deputy Director, Field Programs
Barbara Rieckhoff is the HP+ deputy director for field programs. She brings over 20 years of experience in managing and monitoring international development programs, with a focus on HIV/AIDS and other areas of adolescent and maternal public health. At FHI, Barbara supported HIV prevention programs targeting high-risk groups, blood safety, youth and migrant labor, and cross-border populations. She helped start up a number of complex programs and managed a CDC-funded antiretroviral therapy adherence study. Barbara is highly experienced in capacity building, especially with country teams and locally based partners. At Save the Children, she oversaw a $200 million Global Fund portfolio in HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis, and was responsible for program start-up, ongoing capacity building, sharing of best practices, and development of program tools and approaches. Barbara received her bachelors and post-grad degrees in international relations/public administration from the University of Cape Town.
