Better Policy for Better Health: An HP+ End-of-Project Learning Exchange

Project Briefs

After seven years as USAID’s flagship health policy project, Health Policy Plus will conclude in September 2022. Beginning in 2015, HP+ worked in 49 countries, fostering self-reliance to reduce unmet need for family planning and reproductive health and achieve strong health sector responses to end preventable child and maternal deaths. The project has engaged partners to achieve an AIDS-free generation and decrease morbidity and mortality, while containing the spread of COVID-19. Here we look back over the life of the project to celebrate seven years of policy, advocacy, finance, and governance implementation and impact and explore lessons learned.

Roadmap

HP+ hosted an end-of-project event to review the project’s policy, financing, governance, and advocacy results and explore lessons learned with our USAID colleagues and other implementing partners. We view this gathering as a critical component of knowledge sharing and sustainability and an opportunity to contribute to current and future directions in locally led development, equity, and access to family planning and health services globally.
