Family Planning Financing Roadmap

The Family Planning Financing Roadmap is an online resource to help identify a sustainable pathway to achieve family planning goals through integrating family planning in health financing schemes and improving allocation and efficiency. The website allows family planning stakeholders to learn more about health financing concepts and how they relate to family planning and understand options for financing family planning given a particular country’s context. The website is available in English and French.

What We Do

HP+ responds to the evolving family planning policy context and USAID priorities, while working to advance global initiatives that increase access to and domestic funding for family planning and foster greater accountability on the part of governments to follow through on their family planning commitments.

The interactive roadmap identifies relevant family planning financing options based on a country's context and includes default data for 63 countries. After selecting a country, users go through five steps to assess the family planning financing situation. The final output is a customized, printable report that can be used to consider and prioritize appropriate family planning financing options for the country.

The website also contains a learning materials section—including introductory briefs, a glossary, and links to country-specific resources—to provide users with limited time and health financing expertise with a high-level introduction to health financing concepts and terms.

As of March 2019, the website includes a community of practice that allows registered users to post content and ask questions related to family planning financing.

What you can do:

  • Visit the Family Planning Financing Roadmap website.
  • Watch the webinar recording on how to use this resource.
  • Contact us if you have additional questions or to provide feedback.
