General Recommendations on Home-Based Care for COVID-19 Patients
Wednesday April 21, 2021
7pm Central Africa, 8pm East Africa, 1pm Washington, DC
The Health Policy Plus project has developed an interactive webinar series to present up-to-date and practical information on the home-based care of COVID-19 patients. This session will provide healthcare workers with information to educate patients, their families, and other household members to strengthen the prevention and control of SARS-CoV-2 infections in the community.
Most patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 can be cared for at home. It is important, however, that patients learn how to prevent transmitting the virus to others and understand their medical needs, how to obtain medical assistance, and when to visit a healthcare facility.
International clinical experts from the United States and Africa will share current evidence and discuss real- life patient scenarios. They will also share examples of palliative care for COVID-19 from South Africa and adapted home-based care guidelines, training program, and a patients’ perspective from Uganda.
