Modibo Maïga

Regional Director, HP+ West Africa

Modibo Maïga has more than 30 years of experience in the management, formulation, planning, and implementation of public health programs. In his current role, as regional director of HP+ West Africa, he coordinates activities for the HP+ and Advance Family Planning projects in francophone West Africa. Modibo has overseen an innovative initiative to increase the involvement of nongovernmental organizations and religious leaders in family planning and HIV and AIDS within the region. Modibo also played a crucial role in the signing of a memorandum of understanding on task sharing by ministers of health in francophone West Africa. Previously, Modibo supported the Health Policy Project and USAID | Health Policy Initiative programs in Mali, and was responsible for creating several institutes within the Mali Ministry of Health.
