Citizen feedback mechanisms can help to improve quality of care by making health systems more responsive to the needs of clients and communities. In Tanzania, HP+ created the Sauti Yangu, Afya Yangu (Kiswahili for “My Voice, My Health”) system to enable citizens to provide feedback on health services using their mobile phones. This effort is part of the government of Tanzania’s results-based financing initiative, which aims to improve the quality and availability of health services by linking compensation with performance of health facilities and personnel.
