Prioritization of Family Planning Interventions at National and District Levels for 2018–2020: Addendum to the 2015 Malawi CIP

Malawi’s 2015 Costed Implementation Plan (CIP) for Family Planning, 2016–2020, is a comprehensive roadmap to help achieve the country’s vision and goals to improve the health and well-being of the country’s population. This addendum to the CIP defines priority interventions and key districts to maximize gains to reach family planning goals, based on the application of the FP Goals model. HP+ and Track20 applied the model in 2018 with the Ministry of Health and Population's Reproductive Health Directorate and other stakeholders to prioritize strategies from the CIP that may have the greatest impact on increasing demand for and use of high-quality family planning services across districts. Following this strategic, prioritized approach will help Malawi achieve more equitable growth in the modern contraceptive prevalence rate as the country strives toward its goals.
