As donor support for HIV services in the country is declining, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic remains committed to achieving its UNAIDS 95-95-95 goals by 2025. HP+ identified four things Lao PDR must do to achieve those goals: 1) expand domestic financing to ensure gradual transition from global donors, 2) strengthen and improve routine information systems and periodic data reporting structures, 3) increase access to programs and services for HIV prevention, care, and treatment, and 4) maintain funding and support for civil society organizations. Key players in this effort are the Center for HIV/AIDS and STIs, the Lao Center for Disease Control, and in-country civil society organizations, all working within the structure of the national strategy and action plans for HIV.
