Transition and Sustainability of the HIV Program in Senegal: 2020-2030 Roadmap and Monitoring Mechanism

To ensure the sustainability of the HIV response in Senegal as the country transitions away from donor support, it is imperative to greatly increase the amount of domestic funding for the response. The National Council against AIDS collaborated with UNAIDS and HP+ to development this roadmap for the transition to a more sustainable HIV program by 2030. Driven by the results of a readiness assessment, the roadmap provides strategies for transition so that the HIV program can refine and better target its programmatic response by: capitalizing on achievements and focusing on impact research; ensuring optimal allocation and use of resources that will be mobilized at the national level; and adapting the governance, regulation, and monitoring and evaluation mechanism.
