Advancing Civil Society Social Contracting for HIV Services and Programs in Botswana

Botswana’s National AIDS and Health Promotion Agency, supported by the Ministry of Health and Wellness and HP+, developed Botswana’s Fund Strategy for Civil Society-Led HIV Services, which lays out the parameters under which funding will be disbursed to civil society organizations to deliver quality goods and services to the citizens on behalf of the government. These reports provide a detailed description of the context and rationale for the strategy, a description of the process undertaken to develop the strategy, and the major principles and processes included. This work was completed in partnership with the African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnerships (ACHAP), a local, non-governmental organization in Botswana that provides technical assistance and guidance to the national AIDS program and regional HIV and tuberculosis initiatives.
