The material presented within this guide serves a roadmap that advocates, program implementers, and decision-makers can use to increase knowledge of accountability within health systems, gain skills to better understand existing accountability linkages, and seek consensus-driven recommendations for action. HP+ developed and piloted these materials through an activity on advocacy and accountability for Family Planning 2020 commitments. Although this curriculum was developed for family planning stakeholders, the authors encourage advocates and implementers in other health fields to apply a similar process to strengthen accountability for other pressing issues.
