Nigeria’s Journey toward Universal Health Coverage: HP+ Support in the FCT and Three States

Nigeria is undergoing significant health sector reforms, aimed at achieving universal health coverage and repairing the country’s fragmented primary health system. The success of these reforms promise to increase equitable, affordable, and high-quality health services across the country. This brief summarizes HP+’s support to Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and three states to mobilize domestic resources for health, expand health insurance coverage, ensure financing risk protection, and strengthen the quality of essential health services.
