This curriculum was designed and tested to meet the needs of HP+ Malawi’s work on addressing child, early, and forced marriage. A key focus of this work was engaging traditional and religious leaders in Chikwawa and Machinga in order to help them leverage their spheres of influence to both change social norms and generate action for local implementation of laws and policies that combat child marriage. The training guide is organized into 12 modules to be given over the course of four days. It covers the following six components that were necessary to see the expected results in child, early, and forced marriage: information, leadership, advocacy messages, intergenerational dialogue, action planning, and mentoring.
