HP+ has worked with the government of Kenya to strengthen and advance health policy priorities in the areas of HIV, family planning, and reproductive and maternal health. One of the signature initiatives that HP+ supported in Kenya was the development and finalization of the Kenya Health Financing Strategy 2020–2030, which was launched on February 7, 2022. The strategy reflects a comprehensive undertaking by the health sector that sets clear goals toward sustainable health financing, universal health coverage, and financial protection for Kenyan citizens. This brief unpacks the process and efforts that went into the strategy’s development as well as the technical assistance provided by HP+.
