Recommendations for the Implementation of a Mixed Provider Payment System in Mali

HP+ conducted this analysis to support Mali’s semi-autonomous public insurance agency, CANAM, in designing a mixed provider payment system. Drawing on global literature, the analysis presents the parameters, advantages, and disadvantages of mixed payment systems to help the Government of Mali address key issues within the health financing landscape and encourage providers to focus on providing affordable and high-quality health services. The report has been shared with key stakeholders, including CANAM and other government entities, donors, and partners.
