Evaluation of Makueni County Universal Healthcare Program

With the aid of HP+, the county government of Makueni conducted an evaluation of the Makueni Care insurance program, which covers county citizens. The evaluation identified learnings on performance and implementation challenges that could inform expansion of the program and possible rollout of similar programs in other Kenyan counties. Questions considered include whether there was increased insurance coverage among households, improved access to healthcare for covered members, and improved quality of care.
