Tanzania is facing a substantial resource gap for financing their Health Sector Strategic Plan July 2015-2020, highlighting the need for sustainable financing mechanisms that will help Tanzania reach national targets and make progress toward achieving universal health coverage. To help inform budget processes and advocacy, HP+ conducted a budget analysis to examine the Government of Tanzania's fiscal year 2016/17 health sector budget. Findings from the analysis provide crucial evidence for decision makers and other stakeholders to advocate for more efficient and effective budget allocations for HIV and essential medicines in Tanzania.
