In Cote d’Ivoire, HP+, in partnership with the Ministry of Planning and Development and the National Population Office, used the DemDiv modeling tool to estimate the potential economic benefit of a change in population size and age structure brought on by increased access to and use of family planning, combined with other investments and policy changes. The findings presented in this brief and developed and shared with stakeholders in Cote d’Ivoire show that a strategy that emphasizes family planning yields a 37 percent higher level of per capita income compared to one that only emphasizes economic and education strategies.
