Presentations from "Extending Coverage to Marginalized Groups" at the 2017 Prince Mahidol Award Conference

At the 2017 Prince Mahidol Award Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, three USAID-funded projects—Health Policy Plus, Health Finance and Governance, and Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector Plus—organized a USAID side-session to discuss how to expand essential health services to marginalized groups in low- and middle-income settings. Drawing on country experiences and global evidence, the session explored:

  • Strategies to expand financial protection to those who are often excluded, the informal sector, and the poor
  • How initiatives targeting the most vulnerable can be sustained and scaled up
