Nigeria’s 2004 National Policy on Population for Sustainable Development aimed to improve standards of living and quality of life by 2015 by addressing the complex interrelationships between population and development. In 2015, the National Population Commission, with support from HP+, assessed the implementation of the policy at the national level and in four states. This brief highlights key assessment findings and resulting recommendations, which are intended to guide a revised population policy.
