Stephen Muchiri

Country Manager, HP+ Kenya and East Africa 

Stephen Muchiri directs the HP+ Kenya and East Africa program. Before joining Futures Group (now Palladium) in 2012, Stephen worked for Abt Associates as a health policy advisor and has worked in many African countries on health resource tracking and healthcare financing initiatives. He has served the government of Kenya in various capacities—including time with the Ministry of Economic Planning, Ministry of Health, and Office of the President—and has played key roles in several ministry central planning units. Stephen also served as chief economist for the Ministry of Health, overseeing the Policy and Planning Division. Stephen holds a BS degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s degree in health system planning and administration from the University of British Columbia in Canada.
