Yann Derriennic
Country Director, HP+ Cambodia
Yann Derriennic brings more than twenty-five years’ experience to HP+ Cambodia. His areas of expertise include health strategic planning, sector programs, health management, finance, organizational development, program and project implementation, and evaluations. Yann has in-depth knowledge of health system functioning and reforms. He served as a health finance advisor to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in Bangladesh and co-facilitated the development of a healthcare financing strategy.
Yann has also worked in Benin where he provided institutional strengthening support to national HIV and AIDS stakeholders and completed a study on indigent care and community-based health financing organizations. As health financing team lead in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Yann led the first ever National Health Accounts, a review of performance-based financing (PBF) initiatives, assisted in the design of a nationwide government PBF scheme, and a PBF model focused on the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV. Prior to joining HP+, Yann spend 20 years at Abt Associates as health systems and financing expert based in Zambia, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Austria, and Myanmar. He holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona and he is fluent in English and French.
